Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS SPARK DRIVER?

Spark Driver is an app that connects gig-workers with available delivery opportunities from local Walmart Supercenters and Walmart Neighborhood Markets.

HOW DOES DELIVERING USING THE SPARK DRIVER APP WORK?

When customers place an order, order offers become visible to available drivers, who earn money by picking up and delivering them. Everything can be done and managed via the app, accepting orders, obtaining directions, etc.

WHERE ARE DELIVERIES AVAILABLE?

Deliveries are available almost anywhere – check out drive4spark.com to find out if Spark Driver is available in your area.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO START WORKING?

Our signup process takes just a few minutes. After signing up, it may take 1-2 weeks* to get your account fully activated. This depends on how long it takes to complete a standard background check and other factors like the number of available deliveries in your area.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BE A DELIVERY PROVIDER?

To earn money, all you need is a smartphone and a mode of transportation, such as a small vehicle or van. All vehicles are welcome.

ARE THERE CAR REQUIREMENTS TO START DRIVING?

No, you can use any car to drive, deliver, and earn. You just need a valid driver’s license and insurance.

HOW DO I CHECK THE STATUS OF MY SIGNUP?

You will receive periodic updates via email or SMS or you may click here to request an update to check on the status of your application.

WHY SHOULD I BE A DRIVER?

You’re the boss. As an independent contractor, you have the flexibility and freedom to drive whenever you want. You can make it full-time, part-time, or once in a while — and deliver anytime. It’s a great alternative to seasonal, temporary, and part-time work.

DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO BE A DRIVER?

No, you don’t need any prior work experience. But if you do have previous experience in the rideshare, food, or courier service industries, delivering using the Spark Driver App is a great way to earn more
money. We welcome drivers from other gig economy or commercial services such as UberEats, Postmates, Lyft, Caviar, Eat24, Google Express, GrubHub, Doordash, Instacart, Amazon, Uber, Waitr, and Bite Squad. Driver partners come from all backgrounds and industries, and include catering drivers, truck drivers, and taxi drivers.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FOOD DELIVERY AND RIDESHARE?

With delivery, there are two big differences:

  1. You don’t have passengers in your car
  2. You can use any mode of transportation: your car!

WHAT'S A DELIVERY LIKE?

Once you receive a delivery opportunity, you’ll see where it is and what you’ll make, and can choose to accept or reject it. Once you accept, there are generally three steps, all of which are clearly outlined in the Spark Driver App:

  1. Drive to the specified store
  2. Pick up the order
  3. Drive to the customer to drop off the order

HOW DO I GET PAID?

Earnings are deposited into your bank account Friday of each week. Track it in the “Earnings” tab in your app.

HOW MUCH WILL I EARN PER TRIP OR PER HOUR?

Drivers are paid per delivery. Earnings vary based on pay per delivery and number of deliveries completed per hour. Most drivers average up to $20/HR* – Every delivery that is offered to you will show the amount you can expect to earn by completing it, before you accept it.
